Baker & Taylor
Her career shattered by a public scandal, Seattle reporter Susan Michaels works as a tabloid reporter and is disgusted by claims linking the mayor to a vampire coven, a situation that turns bizarre when she adopts a cat that turns out to be a gorgeous shape-shifting vampire slayer. Reprint.

McMillan Palgrave

Susan Michaels was the hottest reporter on the Beltway Beat until she walked into a setup that ruined her reputation. Now she's working for a small Seattle paper, penning stories about killer moths and alien babies, convinced that her life couldn't get any worse…

That was before an idea for a breaking news piece brought her to a local animal shelter where she ends up listening to her source rant about vampires and gets coerced into adopting a cat despite her allergies. But when her new pet suddenly reveals himself to be a gorgeous—and lethal—shapeshifter, Susan realizes that there's far more at stake than a career-saving by-line.

Born into a world of predators, Were-Hunter Ravyn Kontis was betrayed by those he loved best. Soulless, pitiless, he has spent three hundred years battling the Daimons who seek to subjugate humankind. Against all odds, Susan evokes in Ravyn feelings of tenderness. Desire. Love. And with the ultimate battle about to begin, this one very human woman holds the power to shatter both their worlds...

Book 10 about Ravyn and Susan; preceded by Unleash the Night and followed by The Dream Hunter. This one was not my favourite - I found it boring.

(5 stars) The books in the Dark-Hunters series just keep getting better! Susan makes an awesome heroine: smart, skilled fighter, brave, and compassionate. She's always willing to step up and help, but she can take helpful correction too. I love Ravyn too, even though it's a little hard to believe how quickly his compassion for Susan (and eventually others) suddenly turns on, the fact that she has opportunity to earn his respect early on helps. Stryker's code of honor is interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing how things develop with his new secret weapon. And Satara is a bit of a mystery. I think I've figured out who she is, but things have obviously gotten jumbled over the past couple of years if that is the case.

The first 100 pages were really hard to get past... too many romance novel descriptions, but overall the plot was interesting.
