Some of these recipies looked delicious, but the format of the book was not super helpful. This will not be one of my go to cook books.

A few recipes good enough that you should take this book home. However, I have to laugh when I see her list of items to stock the pantry. This is a food list for someone with an unlimited budget (not me!!)

I found the pictures of G. with her father very endearing. I don't personally care for her as a celebrity but I found the pictures and family stories touching such as her telling of what became the last meal with her father just three days before he passed.

This is an inspiring book. It includes some comfort foods such as broccoli and cheese soup made healthier with the addition of watercress or arugula. This is the perfect cookbook if you want to prepare comfort foods with a healthier twist. Two thumbs up.

You can find brown rice syrup at the Bulk Barn!

I was so skeptical of this book, but WOW. It is fantastic! It has inspired me in my cooking (which is saying something because I cook a LOT and love cooking anyways). The recipes are so simple, healthy and out of this world. This book reminded me of the incredible flavours that can be added to my dishes by using lemon zest, basil and lime juice, among others.
Just get this's so fantastic. I'm going to buy my own copy.

A lovely compilation of recipes and some beautiful passages about her family--try making the pancakes; delicious!

Some recipes look good, others I would never try.

Looking forward to making the slow-roasted tomatoes and the peanut butter cookies.

At least she's not singing.

She looks like she could stand to eat some of these recipes! She is too thin.

Although Gwyneth Paltrow has taken a bit of teasing for the highbrow tone of her book, My Father's Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family and Togetherness, it's clear she loves food and wants to pass on her enthusiasm.
I found that in the end, I enjoyed the book...however, I'm still looking for brown rice syrup...not all of the ingredients will be easily accessible for everyone.
