I agree this is the best one so far!!!!

This was the best so far of Wittig Albert's China Bayles series. Shifting between the present and past, the book was fascinating. Giving Ruby Wilcox a bigger role in this book was a good move. Sometimes China gets a bit tiresome! Taking us into the past to the Sept. 8,1900 Galveston hurricane and the life of a woman who lost her entire family in the hurricane was made so real that I was sure engrossed in the book all the way to the end.

Perhaps this particular series has run its course. So little happened in this book that I was practically shouting "Get on with it and stop all this waffle". What did happen occured in the last 20 pages. This is a waste of time boring book which is a shame as I have read every one in the series and never felt like this about any of the others.
