Avatar: LOK catches flak for not being Avatar:TLA. This is really unfair to the series, as it is its own fantastic entity. The show "grew up" as the original viewers of the first series did. Themes were more mature, romantic relationships were more honest, villains were more real. I frankly think it does a fantastic job of standing on it's own, while paying homage to the past. Excellent series that left me wanting more.

This is one of my favorite shows ever! Both me and my parents enjoy watching it. It is full of action and comedy and even includes some life lessons along the way. I also like that this show doesn't have chanting or talk about false gods, like some of those Chinese and Japan based shows have. I'd say that this series is rated PG for ages 10+ for violence and some very mild humor. Korra originally starts out bratty and a little disrespectful, but that behavior lasts only a few episodes and she learns respect and responcibility as the next Avatar. Although this is how a lot of young destined heroes start out. I don't see why this show is in the young adults section, because it is suitable for older kids, teens, and adults alike. This show is hilarious and a great show for the whole family

I don't get why people seem to hate this show so much. It's fantastic

A substantial continuation of the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender, with new characters and challenges that keep the story fresh. The entire concept of the avatar necessitates that this sequel series take place a couple of generations after the last story, so it has been interesting to see how the world has developed--steampunk technology has emerged, Airbenders are ever-so-slightly less rare--and meet the children and grandchildren of beloved characters from the original series. There are still plenty of funny moments to temper the serious plot, but overall this series feels a bit more somber in tone.

The Legend of Korra took me a couple of episodes to get into, mainly because Korra is such a contrast to good ol' Aang. She starts off smug and privileged with her Avatar status, though as the story progresses, her character definitely grows. This season's story is fantastic and tackles a problem that would certainly happen in the real world: nonbenders, who feel discriminated against by benders, rally against a leader who has the unbelievable power to take bending away from people. My only real complaint? I wish the season were longer!

Fantastic! I like it better than "Avatar: The Last Airbender" (which was amazing). Just my personal preference.

Maybe because of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I was expecting this story to develop slowly through all four "books", but it appears the first story ends with Book One. I thought the conclusion was a bit forced, and I agree with an earlier reviewer who stated that it seems like the creative team took the easy way out in several situations.
I still found it to be a lot of fun, though, and I look forward to Book Two.

LOVE THIS SO MUCH! I can't decide which one is better: Avatar the last air bender, or Legend of Korra!!!!!!! They are both so awesome!

This is an AMAZING show. Seriously, I love it. Not as good as my favorite tv shows/fandoms Teen Titans (<3<3<3!!!!!!!!!!!) and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, but it is amazing just the same. The love triangle REALLY messes with me though because it's so MESSED-UP (I swear, can Asami, Macco, Korra, and Bolin all just be FRIENDS!? PLEEEZ!?!?!?!), and although I normally love love triangles, this one's too messy to love. Even if it takes the fun of shipping out of the show. Speaking of shipping...the only couple I ship in this series is BolinxEska (which shows up in Season 2). Great, action-filled series, however. I haven't even watched the Last Airbender, and I loved it.

So what if it doesn't quite live up to the legendary standard of The Last Airbender? This series/season is exceptionally entertaining in its own right, with a memorable villain and an interesting "steampunk" aesthetic.
