Interesting premise dealing with secrets, guilt, and relationships. Set in Australia (the book on CD reader had a great accent which added to the experience) with several different storylines converging over time. I found the characters a bit tiresome at times but overall it was an enjoyable and quick read.

I love that all of Moriarty's books are narrated by Aussies -- it makes it extra enjoyable. I didn't like this book as much as some of her others, but it was still pretty entertaining (mind you, somewhat predictable).

Loved all the characters, this was an excellent read. I read this book on audio book and listened to it in the car. Very good reader. Will look for other audio titles by this author to enjoy.

The secret(s) were unexpected, and yet believable. This felt more like a mystery novel than pure drama. I listened to this as an audiobook, which made me feel as though I was there. I've spent well over a year in Australia myself, and hearing the accent and the phraseology made this book more compelling than a movie. The author's insight into all of the characters is very true to life, and so accessible. The situations are both unreal, and yet banal in a way that makes them immediately understandable. I'm so excited to explore more of Moriarty's works!!

There is so much going on between these 2 women, I could never have guessed whose husband had the earth-shattering secret; and the impact it would have on the 3rd woman.

I like good dialogue and depictions of human nature - this has both.

Excellente histoire. Très intéressante, pas stressante ou frustrante, intrigante. Fin qui vaut la peine.

Ah, the telltale secret. Discovered in the attic, it's just too much for Cecilia to resist opening the envelope on which her husband's handwriting has instructed that it should remain sealed until after his death. Who among us could remain steadfast when presented with the chance to see what a spouse is willing to say only after there's no more opportunity to discuss it? Good premise and lots of moral quandaries -- not only for Cecilia and Paul, but also for the book's other primary characters, Tess and Rachel.

The chapters are not in order on the disc, did anyone find this a problem?

Wow. There is so much going on between three families that you will NEVER guess what is going to happen. Which husband has a secret? What IS his secret? What happens at the end? Again, if you figure this one out from the get-go...I applaud you. A great story that kept me wanting more throughout the entire book!
