"In Christina Dodd's Obsession Falls, Taylor Summers witnesses the death threat to a young boy, and does the only thing she can do--she sacrifices herself to distract the killers. Her reward is a life in ruins, on the run in the wilderness, barely surviving a bitter winter and the even more bitter knowledge she has lost everything: her career, her reputation, her identity. She finds refuge in Virtue Falls, and there comes face to face with the knowledge that, to live her life again, she must enlist the help of the man who does not trust her to defeat the man who would destroy her. For the first time, when reading a romance novel, that I have rooted for the heroine (Taylor) to tell off and leave the leading male (Kennedy). The "romance" between the two characters is not believable and seemed forced. The attraction between Taylor and Michael ("the bad guy") seemed more real.

Other than the romance, or the lack there of... this was a decent book. Just think it would have been much better without the romance aspect. I hope there is another book that features other people in the town.

If you are new to Christina Dodd, you have lots of great reading ahead; she has authored more than 50 novels.

If you are a fan - you will really enjoy this book: complicated, gritty, suspenseful.

The very ending is creepy...is there another book coming? Rubbing my sudden goosebumps, I wonder if I want to read it.

Taylor and Kennedy don't even meet until halfway through the story. When they do meet, Kennedy almost immediately tries to kiss Taylor when there was no lead up to this moment. I also found Kennedy overbearing. Then also, Taylor's attraction to the bad guy ruined this book as a romance.

A good start then ridiculous. When the heroine cut off her stuck finger, I almost gave up but continued to see what other ridiculous situations she would get out of.

Dodd's writing emotes: "Taylor wandered through green fields touched by mist, where time did not exist and life was weighed in tastes of golden joy and seen in blossoms of yellow despair."

"Sometimes, this time of year, when the sun skipped across the top of the fog, the whole world turned pink and swirled in tiny, intoxicated water droplets."
