Set in modern day LA, this version of Frankenstein was probably one of the more accurate portrayals of this classic story. It does this by telling the story from the perspective of the monster and showing the abandonment and abuse that the creature experience at the hands of it's creator(s) and humanity. The movie does take some creative license, taking place in contemporary LA is a big one, Dr. Frankenstein being a pair of scientist (married couple) is another one. The acting can be a little over the top at times but the actor playing the monster Xavier Samuel, really sold the creature's confusion and suffering.
